During weekdays groups may elect to attend ESL (English as a second language) classes or participate in planned group activities such as sightseeing, adventure activities, cultural visits, or technical and/or professional visits. On weekday evenings and throughout the weekend students can spend time with a Canadian host family.

First Choice International Placement Inc. can also arrange overnight excursions to other major attractions as a value-added component within the group program. As well as being fun, these excursions help create a strong bond within the group which adds to the overall experience.

Following are the available supports that groups can receive:

• Group Pre-planning - A group first completes an on-line application that helps us determine the most appropriate type of activities based on your unique interests and requirements. Once this information has been received our staff make every effort to develop a proposed itinerary that addresses each of your program needs. A draft itinerary is forwarded to you for review.

• Educational Program Coordination - If your group wishes to attend an educational institution we will make all the necessary arrangements on your behalf. We work with a wide array of public and private post-secondary institutions and ESL schools..

• Recreational Program Planning - We are pleased to arrange recreational activities to suit the interests of your group. If requested, our staff can also participate as chaperones or guides.

• Technical and/or Professional Site Visits - Often professionals from other countries wish to observe their Canadian peers at work. We can assist you by identifying and coordinating technical or professional site visits.

• Study and/or Visitor Visa Assistance - If necessary, groups are assisted through the complicated application process required to complete a Canadian study or visitor visa. Once your applications are complete we continue to liaise between you and the Government of Canada.

• Homestay or Apartment Placement - Depending on your preference either homestay placements or apartment residency placements (on-campus or off-campus) can be arranged to suit your needs.

• Airport Pick-up and Delivery - Some groups prefer to make their own transportation arrangements. Others prefer that we make arrangements on their behalf. If requested, our courteous drivers are available to greet your group upon arrival and deliver you to your host family or apartment residence. If you have other transportation needs we can assist by making pick-up and delivery arrangements or by providing guidance on using the public transportation system.

• 24 Hour Emergency Assistance - While most cultural exchanges occur without incident there are times when emergency assistance is required. Our staff are available 24 hours each day to respond to emergencies.
